When do I get paid for an affiliate referral? The 30% commission, the 30-day hold, and PayPal payouts

A friend bought Booked Solid OS through your affiliate link, and you want to know when the money arrives and whether you need to set anything up. This page covers what you earn, when it becomes payable, how it is paid, and how to check it yourself.

What you earn

• You earn 30% of every subscription payment a customer you referred makes, for 12 months from their first paid invoice.
• On a $100 a month subscription that is $30 a month to you, up to $360 for that customer.
• One-time purchases do not earn a commission. Only subscription payments do.

When a commission becomes payable

Each commission is held for 30 days after your referral's payment goes through. The hold exists because a customer can still ask for a refund. If that payment is refunded or disputed, the commission on it is cancelled and is not paid.

Once the 30 days have passed, the commission is due. Payouts are sent by our team each month by PayPal, to the PayPal address we have on file for you.

What you need to set up

Only one thing: a correct PayPal email. You gave it when you signed up, in the box labeled PayPal email for payouts (optional - defaults to your email). If you left that box empty, we pay the email address you signed up with. There is nothing else to fill in.

There is no screen for changing your PayPal email yourself. If it has changed, email us and we will update it before the next payout.

Check your referrals and earnings

When you signed up, the page showed Your private live stats page (bookmark it): with a private link. It needs no login. On it you will find:

• Link clicks, Referred customers and Active 12-month windows
• Commission pending and Commission paid out
• A Recent commissions table with Date, Customer payment, Your commission and a Status of Pending or Paid out

Lost the link? Go to booked.kivimedia.co/affiliates and sign up again with the same email. You will see You already have a link, and your links are emailed to you again.

How a sale gets credited to you

• Your link looks like booked.kivimedia.co/a/yourname. There is no code to type at checkout: the credit comes from the link.
• When someone clicks your link, their browser remembers you for 30 days. If they click another affiliate's link after yours, the latest click wins.
• The purchase has to happen through that link, in that browser, within those 30 days.

Good to know

• If your friend bought without using your link, or paid with a different email address than the one we can match, the sale is not credited automatically. Email us their name and the email they paid with, and we will look into it.
• Commission pending is not the same as money on its way today. It includes commissions still inside their 30-day hold. If a number on your stats page does not look right, ask us and we will confirm exactly what is due and when.
